A very appreciative audience was given an exclusive tour and presentation of the prestigious Motorsport Centre located at UWTSD.

Prof Mike Fernando provided insights on the ethos behind the centre and the many achievements gained over the years. An indication of the success enjoyed by the university is that 8 out of the 10 teams competing in the 2019 Formula One championship had former UWTSD students in their ranks.  This included design, test and track personnel.

SA1WBC members were given a tour of the facility including dropping in on the workshops where competition vehicles were in preparation. There was also a chance to see engines put through static testing under laboratory conditions and an opportunity to try out the high speed driving simulator. All in all, quite and experience for those lucky to attend.
